Effective Alcohol and Other Drug Counselling

Our enhanced therapeutic alcohol and other drug counselling is provided by professionally qualified and highly experienced psychologists and counsellors. We aim to work with individuals and family members who are affected by alcohol and other drug misuse. We work with clients and families to help them achieve their identified goals. We actively and meaningfully involve you throughout all aspects of service provision.

We provide evidence-based treatment for clients with complex combinations of substance misuse and co-occuring mental health, family/relationships, employment and legal issues. The services are carefully tailored to support identified treatment goals in a caring and supportive environment.

A fresh approach with excellent outcomes

We adopt a population health approach and are actively involved in offering consultation, information and training to the local community with a goal of de-stigmatisation. We offer family support group and an after-care program.

The service is fully funded by the Victorian Department of Health with no cost or any of the usual Medicare restrictions. Step back into community life

Established in 2008, this program provides practical transitional support to the residents and staff of the Judy Lazarus Transition Centre, (JLTC).

This program provides those nearing the completion of their sentence with a coordinated service response to transition back into the community, build stable lives and social supports and reduce the incidence of re-offending.

Navigating new lives

Addressing the multiple and complex needs that incarcerated and post release men experience, this project aims to assist prisoners in developing support and building social networks. The goal is to break the cycle of poverty and crime, effectively and for the long term.

The program is being delivered in partnership with Corrections Victoria to prisoners at Melbourne’s Judy Lazarus Transition Centre, JLTC.

Stepping Up, Stepping Out has provided me with a solid foundation to work from in respect to realistic goals in my transition. They have acted as a mediator, confidante and guiding hand in all aspects of life at JLTC. With the continuing support of this program, all residents at JLTC have an extra chance to restart their lives on the right foot.
